
The Honorable Thomas R. Mulroy (JD ’73) became the 141st president of the Chicago Bar Association at its annual business meeting and luncheon in June 2017. Judge Mulroy is a trial judge in the Cook County Law Division’s Commercial Calendar Section, where he was directly responsible for implementing a successful mandatory arbitration program for cases under $75,000 and is now the supervising judge. Prior to becoming a judge in 2007, Judge Mulroy served as an Assistant United States Attorney and then as a partner at Jenner & Block. Judge Mulroy is a fellow in the American College of Trial Lawyers and currently serves as a member of Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Alumni Board of Governors. In 2004, he established the Thomas R. Mulroy Prize for Excellence in the Area of Evidence to recognize a Loyola law student each semester who achieves the highest level of excellence in the area of Evidence. A monetary award accompanies the recognition which is presented each year by Judge Mulroy in his chambers.
