About Talbot Hansum

Talbot Hansum is a partner in the Austin office of Norton Rose Fulbright and a registered patent attorney who has been pursuing a career in patent law since the third grade, when he first learned that patents protect new inventions by granting their inventors enforceable rights. His practice focuses on patent litigation, post-grant proceedings, and patent strategy, and he represents technology companies in federal courts, before the U.S. International Trade Commission, and before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

With degrees in electrical engineering and biomedical engineering, Talbot handles disputes involving telecommunications, semiconductors, computer hardware and software, signal processing, artificial intelligence, and medical devices. His practice includes non-infringement and invalidity analysis, claim construction, discovery, trial, appeal, and challenges to patent validity before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Before practicing law, Talbot served as a U.S. Navy Surface Warfare Officer.
