Cross Keys Capital’s Chicago office and is primarily focused on working with privately-held companies located in the Midwest and the Great Lakes area. With over 30 years of legal, financial and business operating experience in transactional settings, Mr. Schoenfeld brings to clients a unique combination of skills and perspectives. He represents private business owners seeking to sell, merge or recapitalize their business and actively consults with business owners preparing for a future transaction. Mr. Schoenfeld also works with business owners looking to grow their business through acquisitions.

As a transaction attorney, Mr. Schoenfeld represented closely-held businesses in merger, acquisition, sale and financing transactions, and with respect to general corporate matters. He also represented real estate developers and syndicators in purchase and sale, leasing and financing transactions. Mr. Schoenfeld’s legal clients valued his background and skills with accounting and business matters and in many cases looked to him to provide general business advice and counsel.

After leaving the practicing law, Mr. Schoenfeld was the operating partner in a firm he co-founded that purchased, consolidated and operated specialty manufacturing companies located in the Chicago area. Mr. Schoenfeld oversaw all aspects of business operations, including overseeing general managers, maintaining key customer relationships, developing and managing a sales and marketing program and a sales and business development team, implementing operating and accounting systems and processes and growing the businesses through acquisitions. After selling the businesses, Mr. Schoenfeld has been involved as a partner in a number of private equity transactions involving operating businesses.

Mr. Schoenfeld has provided investment banking services with Cross Keys Capital since 2005. He primarily represents closely-held B2B manufacturing and service business in sale, merger and recapitalization transactions. He has closed transactions with enterprise values up to $150 million. Mr. Schoenfeld’s unique combination of legal, operating, financial and M&A experience allows him to bring a full range of perspectives and experiences to his clients. His experience as a business owner and operator has helped Mr. Schoenfeld create close relationships with clients as they relate well to his similar business owner experiences. They trust him as he guides them through the typically turbulent transaction process, understanding in particular their confidentiality concerns and interests in their organization and business legacy.
