Raj R. Mahale is a Partner in Tannenbaum Helpern’s Corporate, Capital Formation and Securities Law and Financial Services, Private Funds and Capital Markets practices. A corporate attorney with in-depth knowledge on emerging market matters, particularly in South Asia and the Middle East, Mahale has extensive experience structuring merger and acquisition (M&A), private equity and venture capital transactions in the manufacturing, engineering, technology and chemical industries. His clients include Fortune 1000 companies, technology companies, tier 1 business process outsourcing (BPO) and information technology enabled service (ITES) companies, sovereign wealth funds, hedge funds, family offices and private equity funds.

Raj has represented investment funds (hedge funds, fund-of- funds, feeders, offshore funds, private equity, LBO funds, mezzanine and other pooled investment vehicles), venture capital, sovereign wealth funds and family offices with fund formation, fundraising, acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, compliance, regulatory matters and fund formations. Prior to joining Tannenbaum Helpern, Mahale was Chair of Cozen O’Connor’s India Practice Group and was a Partner in its Corporate practice. A graduate of Quinnipiac University School of Law, Mahale is fluent in Marathi and Hindi and was ranked as one of the top corporate M&A attorneys in the U.S. and India in Chambers Global, 2013.

Raj is a sports and classic rock enthusiast. When he is not advising clients, he is often playing sports such as football, tennis and soccer or attending rock concerts.
