Neil Schoenblum is President and Co-Founder of Preservation Trust Company, Inc., which is conceived as a boutique Nevada trust company designed to afford highly personalized service to its clientele. Preservation Trust serves as a trustee or co-trustee for almost every type of Nevada trust in contemporary use. It carries on trust administration exclusively from the state of Nevada and has no other offices in any other jurisdiction. In particular, our officers have years of experience working with Nevada and cross-border trusts and families, both domestic and international. Because Preservation Trust does not manage investments, it does not charge fees along the lines of the traditional percentage of annual asset value but instead a flat annual trustee rate.

Previously, Neil was Senior Vice President and the Resident Manager of First American Trust of Nevada, LLC. Prior to joining First American Trust, he was Senior Trust Officer with Provident Trust Group and an attorney with the international law firm of King & Spalding.

Neil received his Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School. While in law school, he served as the Managing Editor of the Cornell Law Review. For his undergraduate studies, Neil attended Northwestern University, where he majored in Classics. Neil graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. Most recently, he received an LL.M. degree in Estate Planning from the University of Miami School of Law.

Neil is the past President of the Southern Nevada Estate Planning Council. He is also Founding Chair of the Nevada Chapter of the worldwide Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP). In addition, Neil previously served as the American Bar Association Young Lawyers Division’s 2013-2014 Vice Chair to the Committee on Real Property, Probate and Trust Law.

Neil has authored or co-authored articles featured in publications including Oxford Journals’ Trusts & Trustees, Estate Planning Magazine, CCH Estate Planning Review, Probate & Property, Los Angeles Lawyer, STEP Journal, CCH Financial and Estate Planning, Law360, Tax Notes, Family Lawyer, and Practical Tax Strategies. He has been quoted in Forbes, the Wall Street Journal, the Chicago Tribune, the Huffington Post, and CBS News online. Neil is a frequent presenter and spoke at the Thirty-Ninth Annual Notre Dame Tax & Estate Planning Institute, the Forty-Third Annual Notre Dame Tax & Estate Planning Institute, the 2021 STEP Guernsey Annual Conference, to the STEP Silicon Valley Chapter, and to the Atlanta Tax Forum.
