Michael Phillips, VSEC, LLC co-founder & Adjunct Professor at DePaul University, served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and Executive Vice President at Rosenthal Collins Group, Information Security Officer at the Federal Reserve bank of Chicago, and Director of IT Security for the Americas at UBS. An active member of InfraGard, the High Tech Crime Consortium, the Chicago Electronic Crimes Task Force, Mike also serves on the Advisory Board of the Digital Privacy Alliance. Working as an independent security advisor since 2006, Michael specializes as a virtual Chief Information Security Officer for small to medium-sized businesses as well as a Strategic Advisor for an early stage (Seed, Series A, and Series B) venture capital firm. Michael received his first technology degree from DeVry Institute of Technology, has a bachelor’s degree and an MBA from Northwestern University, and currently teaches at DePaul University. Michael holds many certifications including the C|CISO, CISSP, CISA, ITIL and NSA IAM.
