Matt represents parties in all aspects of bankruptcy matters, restructuring, and out of court workouts.He has 20 years of experience in litigation and advising clients on issues resulting from the debtor-creditor relationship, including the enforcement of notes and guarantees, writs of attachment, receiverships, wrongful foreclosures, mortgage elimination scams, and injunctions.

Education & Qualifications
Matt received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Brigham Young University. Following this, he attended Willamette University College of Law, where he graduated with honors. During his time there, he served as the Editor-In-Chief of the university’s Journal of International Law and Dispute Resolution.

Career
Following his education, Matt initially served a two-year term as a judicial law clerk to the hon. John E. Ryan. Following his first year as a trial law clerk to Judge Ryan, Matt then went on to serve as his appellate law clerk when Judge Ryan was the chief judge of the Bankruptcy Appellate Panel of the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

In the subsequent 18 years, Matt has worked for a variety of top-ranking law firms, delivering the best possible solutions and outcomes for his clients in all matters of bankruptcy, restructuring, and out of court workouts.

Professional Memberships
In 2006, Matt was appointed by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals to serve on the committee that evaluated and recommended candidates to fill vacancies on the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Central District of California. He is a member of the Board of Directors for the Armed Services YMCA at Camp Pendleton. Matt is also a past member of the Board of Directors for the Orange County Bankruptcy Forum. He also served as Chair of the Commercial Law and Bankruptcy Section of the Orange County Bar Association.
