Kathie Soroka is counsel in Nixon Peabody’s New York office where she focuses on affordable housing development. Prior to joining Nixon Peabody, she served as Senior Counsel to the General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. She has helped public and private clients nationwide structure complex real estate transactions with multiple layers of finance, navigating various federal, state and local requirements. Kathie recently published the article “Top 5 Ways to Use Opportunity Zone Funds in LIHTC Deals,” in Affordable Housing Finance. She is a graduate of Harvard Law School, speaks nationally at industry events and serves as the co-chair of the ABA Forum on Affordable Housing and Community Development annual meeting.
