Julia is a transactional attorney at CyberlawStudio with over 13 years of experience specializing in general corporate, business, new media, internet, and intellectual property matters. Julia has worked extensively with foreign and domestic clients ranging from individuals to established or startup businesses in industries including software, Internet, wireless, branding, fashion, entertainment, music, health & fitness, food, and non-profit organizations. Having previously worked at a Wall Street law firm, her desire to make quality legal services accessible to entrepreneurs and her passion for the creative media, Internet, and technology sectors inspired her to establish CyberlawStudio in 2004.

Julia works with many of her clients as their go-to “in-house” counsel. Julia assists startups with setting up and structuring their initial corporate structures and represent them in various financing transactions (preferred stock, common, convertible debt, warrants). On the employment side, Julia advises senior executive teams on their compensation plans and represent various clients in their employment relationships with established or emerging media companies and modeling agencies (NBC, MTV, OMGPOP,Women Model Management). On the product development side, Julia represents clients in the development, production, and licensing of music, games, smartphone apps, and websites with companies including Endemol, Microsoft, Electronic Arts, Major League Baseball, and Pepsi. With the advent of social media Julia regularly advises clients on website terms and privacy, rights of publicity, and compliance with the terms & conditions of major online communities such as Google or Facebook when joining as a user, app developer, or e-commerce merchant.

In addition to corporate matters she also assists clients with setting up non-profit organizations, from initial incorporation to seeking 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status. She advises existing non-profits on non-profit/for-profit structures such as joint ventures, contract hybrids, for-profit spin-offs and benefit corporations. Some of them are locally based, while others have operations overseas.
