As Managing Director-Credit Analysis Advisory at Cortland, John has continued this focus on behalf of the wide array of corporate clients that Cortland serves. Prior to joining Cortland, John held various executive management positions focusing on credit and risk management, the strategic resolution of troubled asset portfolios, most recently at Talmer Bank and Trust (now Chemical Bank) and BMO Harris Bank. Other notable experience includes middle market C&I and commercial real estate lending at both community and regional banking institutions, also having held the positions of Director of Economic Evaluation and Vice President of Corporate Planning and Development at Bankers Life and Casualty, and serving as the President and CEO of a commercial foodservice company. John is a member of TMA, RMA, and NAGGL and is widely recognized as an authority on commercial non-performing real estate litigation and resolution strategies. John earned his MBA and BBA in Finance and Economics at the University of Wisconsin at Whitewater.
