Erik Rakoczy has strong ties with the tech and start-up community and has helped numerous companies start and grow their businesses. Erik also has background in technology and worked with manufacturing and technology companies giving him an inside perspective on implementing business models utilizing lean and agile methodologies and what legal and investment tools best fit a client’s vision.
In addition, Erik is an author and worked as an editor before becoming a lawyer and has ties with the independent film and entertainment industry and understands the landscape and the unique legal needs of artists and entertainment companies necessary, find funding,investments, and bring their art and products to market.
Erik also has litigation experience in both criminal and civil matters and couples a creative approach to litigation with a fastidious attention to detail, such that he can dissect a contract as easily as he carries a jury to his desired verdict. In addition to being a member of the Illinois Bar, is also a member of the United States District Court, Northern District of Illinois Trial Bar and has worked on international matters under the Hague Convention.
In Addition to a J.D. from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, Erik also possesses a Master of Laws (LL.M) in Business Law from Loyola University Chicago School of Law, and focused his studies on SEC compliance and securities regulation.
