David concentrates his practice of law in the areas of Bankruptcy, Reorganization and Creditors’ Rights.  David represents Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 debtors, secured and unsecured creditors, financial institutions, asset purchasers, Chapter 7 trustees, creditors’ committees and equity security holders in a variety of bankruptcy matters.  He has experience in almost every facet of large, complex bankruptcy and insolvency proceedings, including plan confirmations, cash collateral and debtor-in-possession financing, section 363 sale transactions, real estate and equipment leasing disputes, preference, fraudulent transfer and other bankruptcy-related litigation and claims reconciliation.  David also has an active practice in the areas of Workout, Foreclosure and Banking and Secured Lending.

Prior to joining Meltzer Purtill & Stelle LLC, David was an associate in the Chicago bankruptcy groups of Freeborn & Peters LLP and Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP.  David also served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Kathleen McDonald O’Malley in the Northern District of Ohio prior to her appointment to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  David was named a Rising Star in Bankruptcy & Creditor/Debtor Rights by Illinois Super Lawyers magazine in 2009 and 2010.
