About David Andrews

David Andrews is a registered patent attorney and accomplished data scientist. In his current role at Aon IP Solutions, Mr. Andrews oversees the application of data science to IP law. Mr. Andrews is the inventor of Claim Score, a natural language processing algorithm that teaches a computer to parse patent claim structures like an experienced patent attorney. Mr. Andrews also created a search technology for classifying the technical components of patents that replaces keyword, CPC, art unit, and other antiquated search methodologies. After 20 combined years as a software engineer and in-house patent attorney at Microsoft, Mr. Andrews has experience dealing with large portfolios and all stages of litigation. He and his team of data scientists apply this experience to Aon’s productions and services by supplying technology to the IP analysts and consultants at Aon, as well as in-house legal departments.
