Cathy Carroll is founder and President of Legacy Onward, a leadership coaching firm that specializes in family businesses.
After growing up around her grandfather’s business, Carroll completed her Math & French degree at Boston College, and pursued a career as a pension actuary at Hewitt Associates. After six years, she left to complete her MBA at Chicago Booth, then enjoyed a 12 year corporate career in Finance, Marketing and Sales roles at both Sabre Inc., in Southlake TX, and United Airlines in Chicago.
Then in 2009, Carroll’s father asked her to lead his rodeo equipment manufacturing businesses. As President & COO of Pro Equine Group, she was responsible $20M in annual revenues, and led 200 employees in five different companies that manufacture and distribute ropes, saddles, training equipment and gear serving the team roping market.
After turning the company around Carroll left to start Legacy Onward, which provides family businesses access to customized leadership coaching.
An active member of the community, Carroll is on the board of A Leg To Stand On, which provides treatment, therapy and training for disabled children in developing countries. She also serves on the President’s Advisory Board of St. Xavier University, and serves on the Psychology Committee of A Giving Heart Foundation, which seeks to eliminate the need for open-heart surgeries on children.
