Mr. Nadelman has over 25 years of experience as an entrepreneur; founding and taking on the chief executive role for 7 different ventures. He has extensive experience in managerial and entrepreneurial activities; proficient in identifying opportunities for growth, suitability for capital (debt, equity) and delivering effective strategies to business owners and corporations. Mr. Nadelman has 25+ years of experience in executing business sale and liquidity transactions for himself and his clients in addition to his history of founding and building companies from start-up to investment realization.
In 2005, to capitalize on his extensive business selling experience, Ari co-founded Lionfish Advisors, a lower middle-market financial advisory firm specializing in assisting under-served companies evaluate, prepare and execute transactions to raise debt or equity capital, acquire other businesses (or business units), merge, restructure or sell. He advises clients on the advantages, disadvantages and suitability of both debt and equity placements, and executes the desired and appropriate liquidity transactions. Lionfish has 100% success in achieving its client’s transaction goals.
Three years prior to founding Lionfish Advisors, Mr. Nadelman founded Speedband, a fixed-wireless Internet service provision business. Speedband was the leading and fastest-growing wireless Internet provider in its market. Using 17 wireless microwave cell sites, Speedband delivered Internet access to clients in a 100-square-mile area of Riverside and San Diego Counties. The company built its 1,000-node wireless network and subscriber base organically as well as through acquisitions. Ari created and executed the strategy by identifying targets, structuring the transactions and raising capital to finance those acquisitions. In 2005, he solicited acquirers, negotiated, structured and completed an all-cash sale of Speedband to a strategic acquirer.
In 1995, Mr. Nadelman developed ETS Dental, quickly becoming the market leader in providing regulated wastedisposal services to the dental community. In a mere 4 years, it attained a 40% market share providing services to 2,000 offices. In January 1999, Mr. Nadelman identified an appropriate sale strategy; then negotiated, structured and completed an all-cash sale of ETS Dental to Stericycle (NASDAQ: SRCL).
In 1990, concurrent with other ventures, Mr. Nadelman founded Export Only with offices in Los Angeles and Belgium. The company purchased merchandise that had been seized by the US Government, and sold it to firms in Eastern and Western Europe. At the age of 23, Mr. Nadelman founded Environmental Transloading Services, a hazardous waste emergency response and environmental remediation firm. Eight years after founding the company, Mr. Nadelman negotiated, structured and completed an all-cash sale company.
At 21, Mr. Nadelman purchased the assets of a bankrupt computer company in San Francisco. Mr. Nadelman managed the company through its start-up phase, and eventually sold the company. Mr. Nadelman acquired the foundation for his skills by spending his formative years working in his family’s businesses. Those business recovered and sold freight involved in train derailments and other catastrophic incidents.
He currently sits on the board of the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG), a worldwide organization devoted to corporate growth, development and mergers and acquisitions. He also sits on the board of the Dubnoff Center for Child Development; a non-profit/non-public school that serves at-risk youth with severe emotional and developmental disabilities. He has served on the boards of the Young Entrepreneurs Organization (YEO), and World Entrepreneurs Organization (WEO) [now merged as ‘EO’]; as well as the California Internet Service Providers Association (CISPA).
Mr. Nadelman received his Bachelor of Science in Political Economy of Energy from UC Berkeley, and completed the Executive Program in Management at the Anderson School at UCLA. He is fluent in Spanish, French and Italian, and currently resides in Santa Monica, California with his wife and son.
