About Andrew Helman

Andrew Helman regularly serves as lead counsel to companies and official committees of unsecured creditors in chapter 11 cases, as well as borrowers and court-appointed fiduciaries in out-of-court restructurings and receiverships. He has particular experience in health care restructurings and distressed health care transactions and also has recently represented receivers in multiple cannabis matters.

Andrew is a nationally recognized member of the restructuring community. Andrew is ranked Band 1 by Chambers for Bankruptcy/Restructuring and has been recognized by The Best Lawyers in America for Bankruptcy and Creditor Debtor Rights / Insolvency and Reorganization Law since 2021. His work has also been recognized by The M&A Advisor, including a 2026 Real Estate Deal of the Year award. He previously served as co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute’s Health Care Committee and received ABI’s 40 Under 40 Award in 2019. He was also selected as one of 40 attorneys nationally for the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ NextGen Program in 2016.
