The rules surrounding deposition usage at trial vary by jurisdiction and are often confusing. Knowing those rules can improve the effectiveness of a deposition and enhance the way a party presents its case at trial. From designating the testimony of unavailable witnesses to using admissions of a party opponent in a party’s case-in-chief to impeaching witnesses whose testimony changes between deposition and trial, pretrial deposition testimony can have an enormous influence on trial. Understanding that influence is critical to getting good results.

About the NEEC-TBA

The National Educational Event Calendar for Trusted Business Advisors (“NEEC-TBA”) is a cooperative effort of its members. Other not-for-profit associations whose members include accountants, attorneys, business brokers, financial advisors, financial planners, investment bankers, and other trusted advisors to businesses and business owners are welcome to submit their events to the NEEC-TBA by clicking the “submit an event” button. The vision of the NEEC-TBA is to provide a single location on the internet so that: (a) professional associations with overlapping membership and event attendees may use it to help them plan and promote their events; and (b) members of these organizations and other potential event attendees can go to a single calendar to review many options at once.
