About Lissi Mojica

Lissi is a globally recognized leader in post-grant proceedings and one of the most experienced practitioners in this field. She is also a United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) practice litigation expert who has experience with depositions and expert testimony. Lissi is also a 19 year civil servant of the USPTO. In that role, she launched the Central Reexamination Unit (CRU) to safeguard the quality and consistency of reexamination proceedings and to reduce pendency. As the CRU’s first director, Lissi oversaw thousands of inter partes and ex parte reexamination proceedings and laid the foundation for the adoption of AIA post-grant review, and directed policies, standards and procedures while also developing inter partes and ex parte reexamination training for CRU examiners. Her practice includes all aspects of post-grant proceedings, including PTO practice expert, inter partes review, post-grant review, covered business method proceedings, reexamination proceedings, reissues and interferences. Lissi also specializes in appeals to the USPTO’s Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB) as well as patent quality and patent examination matters.
