Redirect examination is follow-up questioning by the lawyer aligned with or defending a witness after the opposing lawyer has completed an examination. In a deposition, a redirect can be used to clarify an important answer or address a point that may otherwise leave a misleading record, although unnecessary repair questions can sometimes create additional problems.
