
Kelechi Adibe is a partner in the Global Finance group in Sidley Austin LLP’s Chicago office. He represents and advises banks, direct lenders, private equity and financial sponsors, insurance companies, and public and private companies, and his practice includes senior secured and unsecured credit facilities, first lien and second lien financings, acquisition financings, cash-flow and asset-based facilities, cross-border financings, syndicated and bi-lateral financings, unitranche financings, as well as work-outs, restructurings and other distressed financings.
Kelechi was recognized as a leading lawyer in the 2022–2025 editions of Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch in the area of Banking and Finance Law.
Kelechi graduated cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his B.A. in Economics (with high honors) and Political Science from the University of Michigan, where he graduated with distinction.
Kelechi serves on the Board of Directors of IDAC, Inc. (a non-profit that connects professionals across the asset management industry with the goal of increasing diversity in their organizations) and on the Executive Council of Cara Collective (a non-profit dedicated to developing employment pathways to advance transformative individual and community success).
