About Gary Miles

Gary Miles has become a national force in the legal recruiting industry since entering the profession in June of 2007. He has successfully placed more than 100 partners during his career and facilitated some of the biggest and most complex deals in the marketplace including mergers and acquisitions by AMLAW top 100 and 200 law firms, opening offices for international law firms, and placing significant multi-office, multi-disciplinary practice groups. Gary understands the extremely sensitive and confidential nature of the legal recruitment process and he appreciates the exceptionally meaningful and impactful decisions being made by both his candidates and client firms. Gary’s “value added” mantra is about more than just making deals. Gary believes in helping partners find a firm home where their practice can prosper and helping law firms find premium talent and a cultural fit. Gary invests in every process as if he were dealing with his only and most important client or candidate.

Before entering the legal search industry by joining established recruiting firm, Alan Miles & Associates, Gary spent 13 years teaching at risk youth at Markham Middle School and Community Day School (CDS) in Watts, California and was fortunate enough to fulfill his lifelong passion for basketball while coaching for 10 years at Centennial High School in Compton, California, one of the most prolific HS programs in California.

Outside of recruiting, Gary enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters, and using his well-honed strategic skills to win poker tournaments.
