Barbara Gregoratos has a transactional real estate private equity practice, extending to most aspects of commercial real estate law, and involving equity and debt investment and real estate finance. She has experience forming partnerships, limited liability companies, and other joint venture platforms. She represents clients in real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and financings of all types of commercial properties (including REO sales for national banks), and commercial leases, including ground leases and build-to-suit transactions. Barbara’s financing experience includes permanent and construction financing, participating loans, and mezzanine debt.
Barbara represents domestic and foreign capital sources (including sovereign wealth funds), financial institutions, property companies, and corporate users in various transactions, including fund investment and formation, and joint venture arrangements for acquisition or investment in real estate-related assets, including secured debt.
Barbara was appointed vice-chair of the International Investments in Real Estate Committee (a committee of the Special Investors and Investment Structure Group of the ABA’s Real Property Section) 2012-2013. She coauthored a chapter titled “Considerations in Structuring a Real Estate Fund,” published by Aspatore Press (2008) in Inside the Minds: Fund Formation Strategies and authored a Real Estate Practical Guidance module and accompanying transactional forms for Lexis Practice Advisor, a Matthew Bender online resource (2012).
Barbara was a speaker at the 2011 ABA Annual Meeting and the 2012 ABA Real Property Section Spring Symposia, in presentations sponsored by the ABA’s Real Property Section Committee on International Transactions.
