Dan Wikel is a founding member and Managing Director in the Business Advisory practice at Huron Consulting Group and has more than 25 years of business and industry experience. Prior to joining Huron, he was a Director in Arthur Andersen’s Corporate Restructuring practice. Before joining the restructuring consulting ranks, Dan was involved in the Zenith Electronics Corporation turnaround and bankruptcy as the Director of Planning and Analysis. He also held various financial positions with the Tenneco Inc. organization and began his career with KPMG, LLP in the audit practice.
Dan’s operational expertise encompasses the areas of strategic planning, investment analysis, operational process improvement, and cost improvement identification. Dan has served as a chief restructuring officer and as an advisor and his experience relates to executing engagements in corporate turnarounds, lender workouts, bankruptcy situations, and raising debt & equity funding for companies. He also has a strong base knowledge of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code and general turnaround process through extensive work with many companies near or in bankruptcy and often offers expert advice and testimony on these topics and has written a number of articles for the turnaround industry.
Dan holds a MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management, Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Science, Accounting from Marquette University Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Insolvency and Restructuring Advisor (CIRA) and Certified Turnaround Professional (CTP).
