Michael Skopets is an attorney with a practice focus on intellectual property matters, complex commercial litigation, and cross-border legal issues. He has practiced at two top law firms, in Chicago and Washington, D.C., and has served as a law clerk to U.S. District Judge R. Barclay Surrick of the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Michael’s technical background allows him to assist clients across a wide range of fields, including computer software and hardware, network and tele-communications, medical devices, and internet-based technologies. Michael also has particular experience representing and counseling clients on legal and business issues related to or involving FSU (former Soviet Union) and Spanish-speaking countries due to his Russian and Spanish fluency.
Prior to legal practice, Michael was a consultant at Deloitte, co-founded a successful technology company, and held software-related positions at several dot-com companies. Michael devotes a significant amount of his time to pro bono work in state and federal courts.
