Louis S. Chiappetta represents creditors, debtors, bondholders, and equity security holders in all transactional and litigation aspects of bankruptcy cases. Mr. Chiappetta also represents lenders and borrowers in out-of-court operational and financial restructuring matters and has represented various clients with respect to debtor-in-possession financing and cash collateral agreements, sales of assets in bankruptcy, reorganization plan structuring and confirmations, multinational insolvency proceedings, motions for relief from the automatic stay, dischargeability litigation, fraudulent conveyance and preference litigation, and other issues.
Mr. Chiappetta was among the principal associates that led to the resolution of billions of dollars of claims in the Chapter 11 reorganization of Delphi Corporation (S.D.N.Y Case No. 05-44481 (RDD)), one of the largest global suppliers of vehicle electronics, transportation components, integrated systems and modules, and other electronic technology. In addition, Mr. Chiappetta is the lead associate with the respect to the claims resolution of Exide Technologies (Del. Case No. 13-11482 (KJC)), one of the world’s largest producers and recyclers of lead-acid batteries. He is a chapter author for publications in Westlaw’s Commercial Bankruptcy Litigation. Mr. Chiappetta is also a member of the board of directors for the Golden Apple Foundation, a charitable organization focused on recognizing excellence in teaching.
