About David Wharton

David Wharton, CPA, CFE, CFF, is a senior manager for dispute advisory services in the Kansas City offices of Sikich. He has more than 12 years of experience providing forensic accounting, dispute advisory and financial consulting services to the business and legal community. David’s experience covers a wide array of complex matters including: commercial litigation, determination of lost profits, class actions, intellectual property disputes, corporate financial fraud investigations, whistleblower investigations, and insurance claims investigations like business interruption and fidelity bond claims. David has significant experience developing dynamic yet easy-to-understand damages models for complex litigation matters, preparation of expert reports and rebuttal reports, investigating known or alleged instances of financial fraud, as well as managing and analyzing large volumes of financial data using database tools. He is experienced in assisting counsel with discovery requests, document review, opposing expert report critiques, preparation of deposition questions for both fact and expert witnesses, and trial demonstratives preparation. Prior to joining Sikich, David worked in the Litigation and Investigative Services practice area at two of the six largest international accounting firms, providing forensic accounting, litigation support, financial consulting and investigative services. In addition, David is a certified public accountant (CPA), certified fraud examiner (CFE) and is certified in financial forensics (CFF).
