J. Robert Tyler III
J. Robert “Rob” Tyler, III, is an attorney with Williams Mullen and author of Venture Capital Guide (2012) and Founder’s Handbook: A Guide for Entrepreneurs (2012). Rob has over 20 years of business, corporate law, angel and venture capital financings, and intellectual property licensing experience. For more than 15 years, Rob has focused his practice on representing life sciences, and technology companies in equity and debt financings, intellectual property and technology licensing, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters.
He serves on the Advisory Board, CED’s Venture Mentoring Service; and was the former executive-in-residence, North Carolina State University College of Management’s Technology, Entrepreneurship, and Commercialization Program. He is a graduate of the University of Richmond, where he earned his J.D. and B.S. and worked most recently as a Partner at Poyner Spruill and, prior to that, at Hutchison Law Group.
