On March 9, 2015, Charles Schwab launched its robo-advisor product, Intelligent Portfolios. The brokerage house invested a ton of money in a media blitz that included advertising in New York City subway cars and commercial spots during the NCAA basketball tournament. The investment in advertising paid off. In the first three weeks post-launch of the robo-advisor platform, Charles Schwab attracted over $500 million in assets.
